A good long slow story. Lots of subtle hints and red herring keeping the reader guessing what the ending would be.

To all of those who blindly say "He should have kicked her out", while those words do indeed roll easily off the tongue, they are actually a lot harder to do to someone...

Thank you for the feedback! Fair criticism as I had to make the decision between focusing on chapter style scenarios versus more of a 2-3 part novella set. The draft I wrote for the sequel pivots immensely but it flowed so I felt I had to reveal the illusion to lessen the abrupt shift....

The only definite here to me is neither Gina nor Elena is Nika, so I assume she's just "out" of the sim (Nika would have reacted violently to him having another woman). I don't know Adm Colenso enough to say why (if he's playing the French Charles) he wants...

Big lesson here: people truly desiring redemption can have it IF they stay patient and dedicate themselves to a cause--and fixing their foibles.

That was HILARIOUS for Veran to tell a very young Tanguiste that if her ears grew too big, he would trim them with his long knife...and she ran off covering her ears and screaming! Typical dad!! Way to humanize it even more.
