How many times does a young love like that truly work out so well in this world of ours -
Youth is usually so filled with hurry up and hormones - not thought and deliberation -
Great one -
At 75 I find your story very special, the shorter the time remaining the faster the days roll by, so finding a story with such love warmed this often cold heart. Thank you very much and please keep writing.
A half dozen or so stories and you pull this out of your hat. Excellent!
May I echo one of the comments made, the scale just doesn't go high enough. Brings to mind a Christmas 50 years ago this year when a young soldier arrived home unexpectedly from East Africa late on the night before Christmas Eve arriving home to celebrate the first Christmas he had with his wife, (this as I say will be the 50th) and in time for the birth of his first son 3 weeks later. Happenings like this story happen in real life, to real people. We just don't hear the story unless those people choose to tell it

Great story and one that definatly leaves a person with a bit of moistness in the eyes. Thanks for the wonderful story.
Delicately written and with great restraint. Kudos! So many tales here are blatantly over sentimentalized (Romantically) or an anatomy lesson ...this was sweet, refreshing and adorably sexy in its innocence.
Sometimes it takes being away from those that we love the most to realize just how important they are to us. Your story reminds me of the first time that I made love to a certain young lady. We've been married now for 26 years and stories like this certainly makes for wonderful memories. Great story!

This Horny 'ol Sailor is a day late and a couple of dollars short in getting to read this story, but I've got to tell you you made my ciggies wet. What a hell of a great story even after the holidays. Thank You. Ronnie W.
I missed the voting for the Christmas contest but I'm still voting! That was remarkably beautiful and so full of sweet Christmas memories, from Miracle on 34th Street to It's a Wonderful Life. Amazing. I am a true fan and love reading your stories!
Always,
Declan
What a touching story. It was romantic and erotic and perfect for the winter holiday competition. I hope you do well and I look forward to reading more of your work.
What else can I say? Very poignant! Yes indeed and thanks for bringing warmth into my heart.
Thanks for a wonderful read.
A fan always.

Well written and very effective. It really tugged at the old heart strings and left me with a good feeling after reding it.
Thank You
You will go far and do very well writng stories from the heart. Sex is fun, but love is incredible. When you put them together, you have it all. Just a real nice story. Thanks for writing it, Jack!
and sometimes what's said make us question why we write. Once in a while though we find a way to touch someone and they in turn touch us. Below is an anonymous comment from an email I received today:

The voting scale is not quite long enough for me
in this case, I would have given you an six or
seven. You write simply, clearly, and
beautifully, and the story touched me deeply.
My wife died this spring; we had been married for
almost sixty years. Many a late evening, the two
of us, like the couple in your story, lay
tenderly side by side in her narrow bed, both of
us remaining virgins until, after a short
engagement, we had become man and wife. We had
three children, and they had four grandchildren,
who are all now ready or almost ready to move
from school to productive life.
The most erotic love is a tender and faithful one
that lasts to the end of life. The eroticism is,
of course, only one component part of such a
love. That was and is my wife's and my simple
story.

Thank you anonymous, and I thank all of the readers that take the time to look at my stories!
Well Jack, A very good story. A great Holiday read. I think the holiday season brings out some of the best in us. This story seems like it could be so real. Once you start reading it you have to finsh it. Very well done. My hats off to you.

This was a sweet, sincere story. Nothing traumatic or angry, in keeping with the season. Thanks for a well written and entertaining read - looking forward to more.
Hi -
Based on feedback from several people, I have add about three tyewritten pages of new text to have a more gradual buildup of their love. This should come out in a couple days.
I also cleaned up several minor typos.
Thanks to everyone for their gracious comments!
<grin> I enjoyed your story, Merry Christmas and Good Luck (~_~)
a good balance of tugging on the old heartstrings within a believable story fabric. Many try to imitate your easygoing writing style, but few are successful. This is one of the better stories I've read lately, less predictable and more original. Bravo!
It had that undertone of what can really make life special. I lost my buddy 2 years ago after 55+ years (started when we were 16). I remember so many different things with a mixture of smiles and tears, you story helped. THANKS
... in the contest and happy holidays to you and yours.
Always, E
Can be a sappy bunch it's true but aren't the holidays the perfect time? A lovely story with a wealth of feeling. Good luck!
Cookie :)
This was a real good love story. Tenderness, and a lot like I remembered my first (and last) love.
sweet and emotional and makes you think of the first time, I mean first time in love of course. Beautiful story, beautifully done. A winner in my book. Good luck with the contest
You've pulled out all the stops on this one. From Little Harry which had me giggling like a teenager to Ginnie and a very sweet teen love story that's well told. Old Son, You've done good. Thank You. Ronnie W.
What's with all your writers this Holiday season? Have you decided to see which one of you could make us cry the most?
I can't believe the number of awesome stories I've read so far and your story DJ is definitely part of them all.
Very well written and sweet.
Good luck in the contest.
