The intro hooked me but by the second page I roamed away. Lost interest with the introduction of the necklace, then the lack of description of where they sat when Mariah was giving them a ride.

This was a solid romantic story. As for the previous commentator, you may be thinking of a story published a few months ago entitled "Overcoming the Bitch". That story takes place in a business setting and it's a romance story too. Both stories are very good.

Jennifer and James are great characters! I love Jennifer. She's the type of woman that deep down is very sweet but has all the guards up all the time. A nice slow melt of her heart! Great story! Even "tough" girls need hugs and kisses! :)

There is nothing to say other than Great! We need lots more of these type of stories. It was well written and poignant. One gets rather tired of all the other types of stories. I think the lack of detail and suspense puts me off this story. It's obvious the direction the plot will take, which is ok, but if there is no suspense it's not very interesting to read. Also, i find the speech to be too formal, as though written rather than spoken, but ... well done all the same

I know you haven't published anything on Lit for years, but I wanted to share a small anecdote.

I was reading your story on my phone while at work, and while sneaking peeks at the screen during a meeting, I came across this gem:

"Oh. You were enlisted too?"

I literally burst out laughing, right in the middle of a departmental meeting. It was pretty hard to explain what was so funny.

You have a great theme and dialogue for this story. The pace was good until the constant grammatical errors, over and over again slowed the feeling of this story to almost a stop. Until that point, I'd loved it. But she proved she really is a bitch. Just imagine how she'll react if she ever gets an idea he actually cheated on her. Think she'll confront him with evidence and ask for an explanation ? Nah, she'll just poison him in his sleep.

Seriously, this story could have been so sweet but too many grammatical errors and stilted dialogue ruined it. I detect that neither the author nor the editor are native English speakers..

This line made me laugh - "She didn't shave but her bushes looked very sexy. I knew my cock was three times the size of a baseball bat now."

How many bushes did she have? And seriously? Three times the size of a baseball bat? Like 9 foot long and 9" diameter?

I thought this was a wonderful story! The dialog between Jennifer and James about the pendant and the necktie was entertaining to the max!

I'd be surprised if the author was a native English speaker. The author has obviously learned English quite well. The problem is that the author isn't fluent enough to spot his mistakes much less how to correct them. The grammatical errors take away from a nuanced story. The use of a native speaking editor would have taken care of the problem.Overall good story.

Couldn't find fault(other than english as a first language) with this story at all. a brilliant love story. How come there is such a preponderance of nasty, cheating whore stories on the "loving wives" page? They should have their own page for that. Then people such as myself wouldn't have to search for sweet, loving stories of devoted love.

Great story with the back and forth of the two soon to be lovers. The story was strong enough to carry it through to the end. The meeting proposal was very nice and not too over the top corny. Thanks for a true romance story with a great ending.

What a great love story, however the ending needed to be a tad longer or an Epilogue. Was she pregnant, that was the main question that did get answered. 5 stars Shame the author hasn't posted more stories because he definitely has talent.

I loved your story. Seems like it might be true, a lot of the single stories I think are. Anyway I hope your life is that happy. Mine is love/hate, but not this happy.

Stupid people acting stupidly. Gag me with a spoon.

1) Predictable, but excellently told ! Just the right mix of plot and emotions!

2) You tell a woman the value of a gift ? Really ? It may be a good "hook" for the story, but that's not going to happen - ever ! At least not for a gentleman ... !

3) The change from "bitch" and "jerk" to "I love you" was a bit too fast for me - yes, that may be possible, but even then I doubt that people say it that fast !

Nevertheless, all in all (just) 5/5 stars !

All I kept thinking is "this dude has some serious issues if he can't stop himself from having 2-3 hour long erections from just being in a woman's presence or gets hard every time she is around. He's the kind of guy who ends up telling the girl to PUT THE LOTION IN THE BASKET." Creepy!!!!!
