For your story to work one of 2 things are required. Kenjies a wimp or the marriage is on the ropes and there is nothing to lose. The given and non-arguable is her selfishness.

She needs to divorce her loving husband, then go fuck around as much as she wants and then see if he wants her back if she wants to go back. Less than that is selfishly compromising their marriage in the old cake and eat it trick to see if it feels good then dump him like her old boss did.

So writer as talented as you are this was just a contorted contrivance so you could run a scam for her against him and the sucker fell for it - surprise surprise.

The fact is why would any husband fuck his wive's whore when he could go out on his own and choose a real woman for an all nighter without the encumbrance and awkwardness of his wife's presence.

That makes much more sense and might or would have less effect on their marriage as watching and knowing you were second best from her viewpoint.

This work is enthralling and I dearly love these three people. I don't know how the story could have been completed more masterfully BUT I don't want it to end. Please consider a sequel. Perhaps Sara can have a crisis and turn to Ashleigh and Kinji as Ashleigh suggested, and their absolute commitment to each other can be consumated. They would still have to have the three of them know it will only be as special If they keep some distance and meet only periodically as in the movie, "This Time Next Year". Perhaps Sara can find the love of her life in a man rather than a woman and leave the business. Then the four of them could find consumate happiness together and have periodic meetings because they are aware of and don't want more participation to destroy their marriages (they would be best friends but more and better than just that).

The ending was just right. This story would not quite have had the same punch if there was a big "happy ever after" thing at the end.

I feel so empty and sad. Life is so often made up of unfulfilled longings. I read the Perfect Ending comment and realize the impact of your conclusion. Still it is so very sad that the three of them, who love each other so deeply, and yet appropriately, can't have the soul blending lives they deserve. I think there should be a fulfilling sequel to the story years later that has the happy ever after ending that Perfecting Ending found distasteful. I love them all and I hurt for their loss of each other.

None of the dialogue felt forced (a rarity--most stories have at least a section or two of dialogue that feels like the characters are repeating their perfect scripted lines rather than what they feel they should say). So many stories are predictable & even a bit mundane, but this story took things in an entirely new direction. I didn't want to get to the end, I enjoyed it so much. The ending was absolutely perfect, too.

Please tell me you spent many long months agonizing over just the perfect thing to say and how to say it, then spent even longer revising. Otherwise, it’d be horribly unfair, since you make this level of storytelling look easy. But seriously, your prose is so naturally smooth and thoughtful, so well rounded; as a reader, I feel safe in your hands. If you aren’t actively telling stories in some form or fashion, then you’re depriving every potential reader/listener/viewer.

On a more personal note, I find it odd that I was so busy admiring your crafted story I forgot to get aroused. I’m confused as to whose problem that is. Perhaps it's merely the ungodly hour, but I refused to stop until the story stopped.

This story is absolutely fantastic. It deals with raw emotions that I haven't seen on any other story I've read. Yes, the description of the sex was incredible, but the hesitation, the confusion, the guilt, sadness, happiness everything was portrayed in a way that makes the reader experience what the protagonist was feeling in a way that very few stories can. I can't believe this writing made me feel the way I did.

I can't relate to it, being a guy and being straight with no sexuality confusion, but I think you gave me an up close experience of just how nerve-racking and emotionally devastating it can be. Perfection is hard to find in a story, but you have hit it and hit it hard.

As I read on, however, I found myself sitting up straighter, searching less and less for arousal and more for answers and closure for Ashleigh. I was not riveted by the sexual encounters and was instead utterly captivated by the story as a whole.

I found out more about myself through reading this. Often I have wondered whether I was attracted to women sexually or if I simply admired the beauty of the female body. Often have I wondered whether I would be sexually excited by such an encounter as in the story -- one where someone I loved as a best friend could share a man with me. Most troubling of all, I have been plagued by the question: "Would I be better off with a woman?" especially during hard times with my fiance.

As I read, however, as close as their minds were, I found no arousal from the two women's encounter; I had been jealous of Sara's interactions with Kenji from the start, and I had wanted for Ashleigh to realize the truth without having to have shared her husband with another woman. That's not to say I didn't love the story. It has become the all-time favorite piece of internet literature for me. What I mean to convey is that through this story, I have discovered myself; I am not sexually attracted to other females and know that I would never feel comfortable having such an encounter with my fiance. In this, I feel as if I have a special connection to Ashleigh and how she found herself as well.

I started basically disliking Ashleigh... she had a man she professed to love but clearly wanted someone else - and that without even having someone in particular in mind...

If Kenji had been a sleaze, her feelings would have been forgivable but he loved her at least as much as she presumably loved him... And then went on to show he may have loved her even more since he was willing to lose her if it made her happy...

Then when we meet "Sara" it seems clear that there's going to be a lot of pain... either he'll get hurt because he'll lose Ashleigh and Ashleigh will hurt because he's hurt and Sara will hurt because Ashleigh hurts... or the reverse and Sara will get hurt thereby hurting Ashleigh and thereby hurting Kenji...

Then you make it all work out and no one needs to get hurt... And that comes together beautifully...

THEN... they DON'T end up together... sorry of like the Whitney Houston movie "My Bodyguard"... kind of bittersweet while workable...

Interestingly enough, it actually leaves itself open for some nice continuation... a sort of "six years later kind of thing" or whatever...
