Most people are prudes about nudity, its pretty well engrained in most of us from an early age...

"It is better to keep one's mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."

So how about this---It is better to keep one's body covered and be thought to be ??????? than to go naked and remove all doubt.

Nudity is the ultimate vulnerability, but it can also be the ultimate freedom as well. I liked your piece, very thoughtful. Could easily be expanded with more research, but works just fine as is for a short, opinion piece. Well done.

Sometimes authors have similar ideas about a contest. This essay has references that are echoed in some of my fifty-word piece but both were written independently.

What is nudity? Artists have tried to define it for generations and each generation adds more. Will it ever cease to inspire?

You are so right...I've always thought that politicians should campaign in the nude. It's hard to tell tall tales about oneself when one is naked.

I agree. I am a big fan of naturism. It's hard to be dishonest when you're nude. I am a figure artist and I'm always surprised by how unashamed the models are. They seem self confident and without shame. It's downright refreshing. Being nude other than the shower, is something everyone should experience.
