Bytes, bits,
molecules, atoms,
us, me,
dancing the tenuous,
forgetting, remembering,
forgetting again,
always a day behind.

Liquid gold gushes through daisy chains
of aluminum alloy tubes.
Disappearing into clouds of CO2
and trips to WalMart.

America, where are you now?
300 million on the precipice
while the greed of the few unknowingly
deposits the biggest of gifts for the multitudes,
the crash.

Wicked, black, viscuous,
buried beneath eons of rock and sand,
liquid remnants of and bringer of extinction
to untold numbers of species.

America, your blinders kill the innocent,
your great society is crumbling beneath
gilded pageantry, golden smokescreen.

Is it too late?
Are we so far into the apple
that we have ingested the parasitic worm?
Has it devoured the little
remaining common sense?

Crap

Political writing shouldn't be allowed at this website. The writer is confused by a political movement designed to stifle the economic growth of the United States and chooses to spew it forth in a poorly constructed bit of prose. It’s so sad he didn’t do more research.

Gore would love the lament you sing

While planners decide what is best for us morons.

bites <grin

I think each era forseen the total demise of society and an economic structure, some how if it all crumbles apart tomorrow, I am prepared, cause, I can always barter with chicken eggs <grin I can only hope that man's intellect will prevail. I think the problem is America is reforming to meet standards and lower the risk of harm to our enviorment yet other countries are so far behind that they do not have regulations to conform and thus invites more companys to open shop there, untill the world bans together in the fight to protect mother earth, then her children will continue to run rampant.
