The Light
They say The Light is real,
But it does not blind me.
The Light is in everything,
Is The Light in darkness?
The Light is powerful,
There is no doubt,
It controls all.
Even when they wish to be left
To their own fate,
Let them be,
Unhand them.
Your judgment clasped around their necks.
Let them be.
Let them die in their own misery.
Don’t condemn them for sins undertaken.
The Light could have stopped
The devastation
But it did not
Not through choice, some say
But because the destructed
Turned to the dark paths
hey turned their back
On The Light.
The Light to lead the way
Only shines down one path
The side streets remain in darkness
Only shadows are cast there
There is only one path
To the end, be it paradise or pain
We kneel and bow when only
We need some divine favour.
From that bright big Light
Never when that Light casts over us
And asks of us to hold it tight
The Light is all loving
Shedding its warmth
And glowing its aura all
Around Its children.
The Light is the only
Love to live
When all others
Leave you cold.

Interesting...

And contrary to a previous poster, I liked the center formatting on this piece...

Well written, and it is making me think...I really enjoyed it.

A bit mystical in its overtones; I'll see how the second piece spins.

Eternal Light!

An admonishment to walk in the light to the exclusion of other distractions. This is a very direct poem. Simple and succinct.

The Light

I enjoyed your write (~_~) The Light, perhaps the candle that glows for some burns another and those that play in the joyous day while a few turn red from over exposure to the sun... The Light. allow me to apologize for the unapologentic, I did like the poem and its subject <grin

Distracting

I kept getting distracted by the centered formatting, and I couldn't concentrate on the words.
