Well Done.
As usual.
Again.
The title threw me for a bit. Going into this, I started expecting the passion displayed in the first 3 poems in the series. But no, the passion here is of a different sort, more in memory and soul than in a physical romp. A reflective sort of the passion still there with a couple celebrating 50 years of shared life's passions...hey, wait a minute here ... ... have you been peeking in my notebook? ... ... I'll have to get my Octogenarian pair done up and posted!
But you've done well here; word choices and flow speak of a calmer feel, of passion's banked fires, with their radiant heat still pulsing. Can well visualize, thanks to your words, a couple well spent from life's and love's passions now spending a few moments, in the warm afterglow, calmly spooning.
This is one of those rare longer poems {as are the others in the series} well worth the time and effort to bring your mind into sharp focus and to read and enjoy.
And if you haven't read the others in the series, then set aside some time free of distraction, bring your mind into focus to be worthy of these excellent, clearly written writes, and enjoy the experience.
Taking Mr. LeBroz at his word I went and read the group of CML poems you have done, all in a prose style. Really wonderful collection of words with such a wide range of feeling, from Fever to Unspent. Sure hope you have more lined up in your word processor. Now I know I have got to make some time to read your other stuff. ty
I love this series and glad to see another. Sprinkled with that spice only a wanton vixxxen can produce, very nice write and a great read <grin.
I really liked that, it was sweet... Thanks for the continued brilliance!
I am truly impressed by the talent you show in your writing. I just discovered this site several days ago and yesterday sampled some of your poems. This is the first comment I've to offer on your writing and found this series to be really wonderful! However, I must admit, this last one took a little more thought to appreciate its subtleties. Now I can save the rest as a treat to end other long workdays.

Reading this makes growing old --- especially if it is together --- look like something to look forward to.
A wonderful tale of a love that grows and never dies. Life's passions may be banked but love remains.
So sweet the way you describe their lifetime love together that now has assumed another dimension. It's not quite the same as it was in their 30s. CP
The older I get the more I'm thinking the love and sex will always be there. But, like here, not with quite the exuberant enthusiasm. ;-) Terrie
Nice contrast to LeBroz's "A Girl's Best Friend". Here's the way we all want to spend the sunset years, with someone warm, loving, & comforting.
