You turn and as an unexpected shadow
Here I am here again here and here and there
As if it was that I was as I always was
And never never gone at all dammit
See, see the look my eyes sight lines
Watching waiting seemingly saying
What? Wanna make something of it?
My return to you is nothing more
Than the soft sweet slamming
Of your softly scented cat door.

All that we were when we were
Before you said so long so long ago
So strong tidal wave memories
Returns in turn you needs take pause
Like carving of onions overcoming
Bringing unbidden tears of reverie
Wiped away as if wiped away and gone.
Love a curious delicious diurnal bloom
Winter blight dies; spring springs forward
Mysteriously filling full our full moon.

My hand is back on familiar paths
That lead downward toward desire
Trailing trails teased in soft hard nails
Slipping up under past elastic borders
Hungry for cotton soft silk wet secrets.
That that which I know you meant to keep
In keepsafes from me to you and back again.
How long we are here we cannot care
I hold your passion in your gaze now
And all that is is that we are there

Enjoyed

An enjoyable read. The figurative language creates a good atmosphere for the reader.

Good stuff. Mentioned in today's new poem reviews
