Crashing waves of despair across narrow cheeks
Words of longing denied once again
As doors boarded up keeps another hidden.
Whispered songs dance from her lips,
They grace the presence of a sailing ship.
Tossed about and still denied
The words of her passion are kept inside.
She sees the plank, a beckoning friend.
It calls to her, "Leap right in."
She takes a step, the path new and free,
Her longing for someone other than he.
He pulls her back, ties her down to the floor,
Walks on her back, she's no more.
Her mind in the darkness or consumed by the air.
Her thoughts now are gone, because nobody cares.
Crying out, she tangles with him.
Nevertheless, he wins again.
She will be back when her body is strong,
He'll not keep her tethered, for very long.
