It’s bordering on the edge.
I can feel it.
It claws at me trying to make me notice.
I turn away and look somewhere else.
Yet, it is there.
Weighing on me.
Pulling on me.
Oh God. . .
I feel the tears.
They rest and wait to fall.
Please not tonight.
I don’t want to feel.
Breath,
or try to think.
But it happens.
I fall over.
Claw and try to get away.
I can’t.
I beg. Plead. Whimper.
But it has me and will not leg me go.
I am here melting all alone.
No fingers to touch. No smile to see.
No heart beats inside this chest.
It lies open, wounded,
alone, sad.
Afraid.
Just bring the black veil and let me go.
