It was that time of year
when the cold comes through the faulty window caulking.
The first real night of cold even the bell of the neighbor’s wind chimes froze.

Maybe this is love;
something we're not quite seeing,
something we're not quite feeling.
It’s something like that,
a substanceless return
and the scene you can’t quite set.

Now that I know you, I understand what you meant;
sometimes I feel like the undertow is stronger,
the beach gets longer,
and the suncrystals in the water have faded to black.

Dvoceans

reading these verses fit like a glove

for a moment. at least, i could feel the love

eight minutes have past since the sun has set

reading these lines, i feel we've just met

I agree...

...with the previous comments. Great imagery.

some wonderful phrasing here, potent images-- the faulty caulking (wow what a word combo!) and suncrystals...

lovely write, thank you-
