How has my light gone?
Did it leave swiftly?
Gone so fast, so furiously
With a swirl of its skirts
And a turn of its nose
Did it run so fast?

Did it leave wanting?
Did it pine for love lost?
Weeping at the tragedy
With a single acidic tear
Wiping its face clear of emotion
So that it might void itself from existence?

How has my light gone?
Did it crawl at a slow drag?
Kicking and screaming
Biting and clawing
Striving to keep hold of its own darkness
Its mate
Its soul
Nails bleeding from the effort
Throat raw from the strain
Did it go unwillingly?

Did it look back?
Does it now miss the rest of my being?
As though a piece of it were missing
...instead of me?

How has my light gone?
