Click hereLight fog shrouds lofty tops of Douglas Firs,
a gauzy moon casts its muted, silvery glow
over a simple campsite.
Towering hulks of giant trees
cast sleepy translucent shadows
over the primordial forest floor.
Orange-red embers dance to a breeze
no human could possibly feel
as the dinner fire slows to dormancy.
Gazing into the glow of your eyes,
I hear only nature’s voices in the night,
feel only love in this perfect moment.
Your hand tenderly reaches over to mine,
energizing parallel heartbeats
at that first moment of touch.
Holding you close, we are the observers,
night creatures rule Lothlorien
while our silence protects the peace.
Silently slipping into light bedding
our bodies gently explore each other,
the ancient forest ever vigilant.
Sated, as one, we pass into dream-time,
leaving the nocturnal world to itself,
hearing only eternal voices in the night.
Warm, sizzling lil poem here.
One wants to snuggle up in this and go to sleep.
Vivid imagery.
Your words brings it home,
with a dash of pepper thrown in...
Hot lil read~
Snuck up on me. *grins*
Great visuals, I could really
picture that forest and the
roaring campfire. Lovely
writing very well done!
Thanks.
