I am the pearl grey of old tuxedos
I am sassafras spicy
I am the eggshell marble
swirled with five shades of plum
I am gold veins in lapis lazuli

I see the pout in morning dew
I taste petal
    in its rotary fury

Dragon's eye iridescent
    with influences of Mercury
Born under mild skies

I am the power in your skin
I am feather faithful

yours.

Thought

Your words are understated, yet full of meaning and love. Brilliant work. Blackadonis

I feel a touch Jamaica Kincaid or Sapphire here...

something in the phrasing, maybe it's the sassafrass, but I liked the earthy tones here. "feather faithful" is inspired. very good...

Several

An "I am" list that works pleasingly.

See, it can be done

and the color and taste words help greatly.

(Have you ever seen gold flecked onyx?)

This makes me think.....

....of finding a jewel on a box of buttons. All of them useful and acceptable but this one shines.
