sitting absolutely stationary and as
quiet as a growing chrysalis.
To feel the velvety imprints
of the caterpillar’s tiny feet
creeping slowly up your back.
Each fuzzy, slippered instep,
every single silken impression

this tightly crafted poem works on many tasty layers that one can get all in one bite. The idea of metamorphosis as intentional work; the payoff for discipline and self control; finding beauty through heightened consciousness in the tiniest, most mundane things -- and inviting the reader to share in the epiphany at the closing line. There's some really nice alliteration in here, too, subtle enough that one doesn't realize it's working its magic. Very, very nice poem.
this is soo soft and cuddly, and very zen, relaxing. Thanks for the quiet moment!
Time stands still! Visionary, spiritual and sensual hmmmm
Wow Outstanding use of minute seconds of living. The small things merging into the creation of beauty... This is a great work!
